Rancho Vistoso Blvd Street Lights turning off On March 18

After extensive research, cost analysis of repairing and replacing the streetlights, demonstration projects, several meetings with the Town of Oro Valley Staff and Police Department, and member feedback,  at the February 29th General Session meeting, the Board of Directors decided to shut off and remove the streetlights along Rancho Vistoso Blvd. The streetlights that are owned and operated by the Town of Oro Valley in Sun City and at intersections where traffic signals are located are not affected.

The streetlights will be turned off on Monday, March 18, 2024, or soon after.  In preparation, Mountain Power Electric Contractors will be installing reflective tape on some of the poles to alert drivers to their locations as per the Town of Oro Valley Engineer’s recommendation. Staff is working on getting estimates for the removal and disposal of the poles as well as rewiring of neighborhood monuments that are connected into the streetlighting system.
