At the April 24, 2025 Board of Directors Annual meeting the board presented a summary of the VCA accomplishments over the last year. The Board of Directors meeting scheduled for May 29, 2025 was cancelled because a quorum could not be reached. The next board meeting is on June 27, 2025.

RVB Neighborhood Monuments

The board has selected Cascade Electric to install solar lights at the monuments that were affected by the removal of the streetlights. This project includes lighting for Las Colinas, Sunset Ridge and Vistoso Highlands. We are waiting for a start date from the vendor.

The conveyance agreement for the two streetlights along RVB near Honeybee Park is still under review by Town of Oro Valley.

Drainage Projects

  • 27 Mile – The board selected Sky Island Restoration to complete this project. We are currently in the permitting process with the Town of Oro Valley. Once this is approved a pre-construction meeting will be scheduled.
  • Big View Ct. Channel – Sky Island Restoration was selected to complete this project. The estimated time frame for this project is late summer to early fall 2025.
  • Bridal Veil – This project is currently on hold until the completion of the 27 Mile and Big View Ct. projects.

2025 Capital Projects

The following capital projects have been slated and budgeted for 2025:

  • RVB streetlight removal – Project completed 1/30/25.
  • Irrigation repairs along Desert Fairways and Innovation Park Dr. – The board will be reviewing proposals for this project at the April 24, 2025, meeting.
  • Drainage repairs – 27 Mile and Big View Ct projects have been awarded to Sky Island Restoration.
  • Wall, restrooms, ramadas painting – The board will be reviewing proposals for this project at the April 24, 2025, meeting.
  • Repair/Replace playground equipment at Somerset Canyon Park – Estimates are being gathered  for this project.
  • Roof Tile Renovation for Wildlife Ridge, Hohokam Parks and Bell Tower – Proposals are being solicited for this project.
  • Asphalt replacement for parking pad located in Mirabella near 27 Mile – This project is on hold until the completion of the 27 Mile drainage project.
  • Drinking water fountain replacement – New fountains have been replaced at Hohokam and Wildlife Ridge Parks. The board approved three additional drinking fountains to be replaced at 27 Mile, Big Wash, and Sunset Ridge Parks.

2025 Events

The Spring Yard Sale took place on Saturday, April 5 from 7:00am- 2:00pm. The Fall Yard Sale is scheduled for Saturday, October 18 from 7:00am -2:00pm. The Fall Event this year will be held at Sunset Ridge Park from 8:00am -11:00am on October 25.

Landscape Maintenance Proposals

At the 2025 February General Session meeting the board selected AAA Landscape to continue providing landscape maintenance services from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2028. Five proposals have been received from contractors: AAA Landscape, BrightView, Environmental Control, Santa Rita Landscape, and Yellowstone. The Parks & Landscape Committee and three members of the board interviewed each company prior to the board decision.
