TOV survey to broaden Town’s tax base

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (June 16, 2025) – The Town of Oro Valley is launching a community engagement effort to gather public input on new proposals to introduce a broader tax base and adjust select fees.

The proposed changes are designed to help the Town continue delivering high-quality services and maintaining essential infrastructure. Residents are encouraged to learn more about the proposals and participate in three upcoming Zoom meetings in July.

What’s being proposed:

The proposals to increase revenue are in these public service areas:

  • Parks and Recreation – Potential updates to fees for classes, facility rentals and programs.
  • Stormwater Utility – Potential update to fee to maintain and improve local infrastructure.
  • General Fund Revenue – Potential of three new general taxes similar to surrounding communities; a Commercial Use Tax, a Telecommunications Tax and a Commercial Rental Lease Tax; all of which are already being levied by neighboring communities such as Marana, Tucson and Sahuarita.

How to participate:

Residents are invited to attend a series of Zoom meetings from 6–7:30 p.m. on the following dates:
