Public Hearings: The Town’s Planning and Zoning Commission will be holding two public hearings to consider Oro Valley’s Path Forward, the residents’ 10-year action plan (also referred to as a General Plan). This is the regular, ten-year update to the Town’s policies regarding a range of topics to meet the State of Arizona’s Growing Smarter legislation.
A resident created plan. Oro Valley’s Path Forward was created by many residents coming together to create a plan that reflects the collective community’s values, priorities and expectations for the Town’s future. Over the past two years, residents provided over 10,600 comments at pop-up events, public meetings, surveys and online forums. Great care was taken to balance varying perspectives and needs of a diverse population.
The plan sets many goals, policies and actions that will guide the Town over the next 10 years. The Planning and Zoning Commission is just the first step in the adoption process. The plan will also be considered by the Town Council then placed on the ballot in November 2026 for resident approval.
The public is encouraged to attend and will be invited to speak at both hearings. For more information or to check out the plan, please visit OVPathForward.com. QUESTIONS? Please contact Milini Simms, Principal Planner at (520) 229-4836 or msimms@orovalleyaz.gov.
