Install and Test Smoke Alarms: Place alarms on every level of the home, outside sleeping areas, and inside bedrooms. Test them monthly and replace batteries at least once a year.

Practice Safe Cooking: Never leave stovetops unattended, especially when cooking with grease. Keep cooking areas clean and free of flammable items like towels or curtains.

Maintain Electrical Safety: Avoid overloading outlets and extension cords. Inspect cords regularly for fraying or damage and plug major appliances directly into wall outlets.

Manage Heating Hazards: Keep space heaters at least three feet away from combustible materials such as curtains, furniture, or bedding.

Store Flammables Securely: Keep matches, lighters, and candles out of reach of children and away from heat sources.
